National Cadet Corps (NCC)
1. Introduction
The full name of NCC is National Cadet Corps. It's a youth organization of the Government of India that aims to
develop discipline, leadership ability, patriotism, and a spirit of service
among the youth of the country.
2. Establishment
- Foundation Year: 16 April 1948
- Headquarters: New Delhi
This organization trains cadets in all three branches – the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force.
3. Objective
- To increase the sense of discipline and patriotism among the youth.
- To develop leadership ability, teamwork, and responsibility.
- To contribute to disaster management and social service.
- To create awareness towards the security of the country.
4. Training and Activities
- Drill and Parade
- Map Reading
- Rifle Shooting
- Camps (Annual Training Camp, Republic Day Camp etc.)
- Adventure Activities (Trekking, Mountaineering, River Rafting etc.)
- Social Service (Tree Planting, Blood Donation Camp, Swachhata Abhiyan etc.)
5. Benefits
- Getting a certificate (A, B, C) in NCC gives special preference in recruitment in defense
services.

7. Types of NCC (Wings)
- Army Wing: Training related to ground forces.
- Navy Wing: Naval training (sea activities).
- Air Wing: Training related to air forces (flying, aircraft modeling etc.).
8. Types of NCC Certificates
- Certificate 'A': At the school level, in the junior division.
- Certificate 'B': At the college level, in the senior division, after at least 1–2 years of
training.
- Certificate 'C': The highest level, especially useful for recruitment in defense services.
9. Eligibility
- Age Limit:
- Junior Division: 13–18 years
- Senior Division: 19–26 years
- Educational Qualification:
- Should be studying in a recognized school/college.
- It is important to be physically and mentally healthy.
